By the end of the module, the students should expect to 1) gain an understanding of the theoretical frameworks commonly used across all social science research; 2) become familiar with and gain some hands-on experience in a variety of different social science research methods; 3) practice evaluating both academic and popular research for methodological soundness; and 4) go through the process of designing their own research project, by writing a research proposal which could eventually serve as a model for their MA thesis or Ph.D. dissertation.
