This course overviews, in an introductory manner, the history, purposes, and contemporary issues surrounding ASEAN as a whole, those found among some member countries, and those in relation to East Asian countries. Main objectives of this course is not only to familiarize students with main social, cultural, political, and economic affairs with faced by ASEAN today; but it also aims to help them develop their own perspectives on the future prospects of this politico-economic unity.
