He is conducting\u00a0a historical study of\u00a0<strong><em>Education for Migration and the Philippines Diaspora<\/em><\/strong>,\u00a0from American colonial times to the present day.<\/p>\n<p>The prestigious JSPS Ronpaku programme\u00a0provides support each year for a limited number of promising researchers from selected\u00a0Asian and African countries to enable them to submit a doctoral dissertation to a Japanese university without formally matriculating.
